SUMMARY:An Afternoon of Latin Music with the Capriccio Trio: Music at Noon Lunch and Concert
DESCRIPTION:The audience will enjoy a selection of music by Latin composers. Featured will be the Second Piano Trio by Spanish composer Joaquin Turina\, as well as works by Fernandez Arbos and Cesar Cui. Cellist Dahna Rudin received her artist diploma from the Vienna University for Music and Arts and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College. She performs regularly with the Capriccio Trio and has presented numerous solo recitals and concerto performances in the Bay Area. As an orchestral musician\, Ms. Rudin has performed with the Symphony Silicon Valley\, the Midsummer Mozart Festival orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony. She maintains a private studio in Mountain View where she offers private lessons and coaches chamber ensembles of various combinations. Pianist Dmitriy Cogan has given public performances since his debut at age nine in his native Moscow. He studied at the Julliard School of Music\, where he received his Master of Music degree. He has won prizes the Kosciuszko Chopin Piano Competition\, the American Music Scholarship Association competition\, the Robert Casadesus International Piano Competition and the Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition in Spain. Cogan has given numerous recitals and recently toured Russia. In collaboration with violinist Alexander Markov\, Cogan can be heard on a recently released CD on the Erato Label. Violinist Alex Eisenberg belongs to the famous Russian Violin School. He began his studies in Odessa and continued at the Moscow Conservatory. He won the first prize and a gold medal in the Michelangelo Abbado Violin Competition in Sondrio\, Italy. As a soloist and chamber musician\, he has performed with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra\, Vienna Soloists\, Odessa Philharmonic\, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra\, Dubrovnik Festival Orchestra\, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra\, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra. Monthly Music at Noon concerts include a hot buffet lunch before the concert.
