Celebrating 20 Years of Music Education & Community
For 20 years, Opus 1 Music Studio has been part of the Palo Alto and Mountain View communities, helping students of all ages discover the joy of making music. Founded in 2006 as a small after school studio, Opus 1 has grown into three Bay Area campuses, with more than 1,400 weekly students and 50 professional, conservatory-trained, world class teachers, teaching Piano, Violin, Cello, Guitar and Voice.
Through private lessons, group classes, recitals, examinations and performances, our goal has remained the same: to provide serious music education in an environment that is warm, encouraging and joyful. We also understand how busy family life can be, which is why we offer flexible and convenient online scheduling, making it easier for families to fit music lessons into their schedules and accommodate their busy lives.
From a child's very first notes to advanced students performing on prestigious stages, we believe music education is about much more than learning an instrument. It builds confidence, discipline, creativity and a lifelong appreciation for music.
As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are incredibly grateful to the thousands of students, families, teachers and staff who have been part of the Opus 1 community over the years.

Twenty years after our first students walked through our doors, we are excited to begin our next chapter with the Grand Opening of our new Palo Alto campus at 3401 El Camino Real. With expanded facilities, beautiful teaching spaces and more opportunities for our students to learn, perform and connect, we look forward to serving Palo Alto, Mountain View and the surrounding communities for many years to come.
