Symphony No. 7 The Palo Alto Philharmonic is proud to present Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Composer-in-Residence Lee Actor, with soloist Daniel Glover, an artist who has received worldwide praise for his extraordinary technical and interpretive skills. The Concerto (2012) is a powerful and dramatic work combining echoes of Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and jazz. This concert opens with the vivacious Hungarian Dance No 1 by Johannes Brahms and also features Symphony No. 7 by Antonin Dvorák. Composed at the height of Dvorak’s career, the work reflects the struggles of the Czech people to form an independent nation.
