The Wacky World of Willfulness

At the IP Section's April 18 meeting, Robert Payne of Payne IP Law in San Jose will speak on The Wonderful, Wacky World of Willfulness.  Although we usually think of willfulness in the context of exemplary damages in patent infringement, Mr. Payne will explore the inconsistencies and quirks of willfulness in “non-exemplary” IP damages.  Prepare to be amazed (and mark your calendar)!
1 unit MCLE and lunch will be provided.

Robert Payne is a former partner of the recognized IP boutique firm of LaRiviere, Gruman & Payne, in Monterey.  He served as former Chair of the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the California Bar, the third largest IP organization in the U.S.  He's former Chair of both the Patent Litigation and the Trade Secrets Committees of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, 16,000 members strong.  He currently chairs the Litigation Interest Group of the California Bar IP Section.  A Super Lawyer of Northern California, for six years.
